Exchange visit for childcare on St. Eustatius

From the 7th of October to the 21st, 4 pedagogical staff members and the director of Dutch childcare organization Op Stoom will be on St. Eustatius for an exchange visit. This visit is part of the Twinning Program of BES(t) 4 kids between childcare organizations from Sint Eustatius and the organization from the Netherlands.

The employees of Op Stoom support the children’s centers in St. Eustatius by participating in the daily program of the children’s centers. The director, Linda Blankhorst will coach the managers of the centers in the implementation of their pedagogical plans.

On October 18, Linda Blankhorst will also give a workshop on “learning through play” for all child care workers in St. Eustatius. There is so much children can learn through playing, using the right materials and a proper guidance. In the same week, much special attention will be given to all staff working with children in the daycare and out-of-school programs on St. Eustatius.

The Twinning Program makes it possible for everyone to learn from each other.  Through this project and all others, BES(t) 4 kids ensures that all children receive the best quality care so that children can develop into balanced adults. After the first visit to the Netherlands last year, this June a fruitful working visit of 4 directors from the child care sector of St. Eustatius to the Netherlands took place for the second time. By now there is a close contact between the organizations. Earlier this year, all child care centers received educational materials from Op Stoom. These materials were collected by the employees of Op Stoom.
