On 25 May 2023, a ‘working party’ for pedagogical staff and managers in childcare took place on Bonaire. It was a day full of inspiring workshops and knowledge exchange, for example on dealing with children who stand out, observation, pedagogical use of space, playful math and reading and development of play. Managers could attend a safety and health management workshop.
The working party was organized at the initiative of enthusiastic childcare organizations from European Netherlands and Bonaire, in cooperation with the BES(t) 4 kids program. The organizations are happy to share knowledge and experience with their colleagues from Bonaire.
BES(t) 4 kids Bonaire will explore whether a structural ‘twinning program’ for Bonaire is feasible and desirable. Saba and St. Eustatius already have experience with such a twinning program and the results are good. Not only is it super fun for the organizations and employees to exchange knowledge and experience. The program also has a huge positive impact on the quality of childcare. And of course BES(t) 4 kids wishes the children on Bonaire the same!
